Rebecca Holt is a native Oklahoman, born and raised in Southeast Oklahoma, furthered her education with a B.S. in Development and Family Studies from The University of North Texas and came back to Oklahoma and obtained a Masters of Social Work from The University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!).
Aside from being a Sooner fan, she is an experienced Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Trained Therapist and is passionate about educating people about the long term impact of childhood trauma. She believes healing emotional trauma not only helps individuals but has a positive impact on the communities we live in. With a holistic approach, Rebecca has worked in outpatient behavioral health and community mental health providing individual and group therapy, case management, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation. In addition to her impressive accolades, she is knowledgeable in the areas of post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, and has taught parenting education groups as well as facilitated support groups. So, it was no question that Green Shoe was the perfect next step to utilize her incredible and humbling gifts to help others. Aside from being a self-care and mental health expert, Rebecca loves animals. Just ask her German Shepard, Tanya Tucker. When she and her husband are not camping with their fur-baby, you can find her nestled on her couch with her favorite book “Tuesdays with Morrie” or watching Wheel of Fortune with her family. |
