Working at Green Shoe has been a goal of hers for several years and she is excited to see this dream come to fruition as the newest member of the team. Roberta believes that people are inherently relational beings and problems are not limited to the individual, but impact the entire family system. She has a holistic approach to healing which includes awareness of the mind, body, and spirit when working through various issues. Roberta’s experience includes group therapy, group rehab, group psychoeducation, outpatient individual, couples, and family therapy in community mental health and residential settings. She has experience in crisis intervention and case management. She has provided therapy services for clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance-abuse, grief/bereavement, parenting education, codependency education, and trauma therapy. She also is an adjunct professor at Southwestern Christian University where she teaches behavioral sciences to students aspiring toward careers in the helping profession and has taught parenting education groups as well as facilitated support groups. In addition to being a therapist, Roberta has four daughters, two granddaughters, a husband, and two gigantic dogs named Tony and Wesley. During her free time, she is immersed in acts of creativity such as painting, drawing, collage making, writing, and reading. She also has a passion for fitness and goes running and to the gym regularly. Some of her favorite things to do is travel, go boulder hopping, hiking, horseback riding, and playing sports (volleyball, basketball, and softball). When she is not doing all of this, she finds a little time to garden. |
